Temperatures continue to soar well into the 80s all weekend long. Although we aren’t near record temperatures today highs are forecast at unseasonably warm levels in the middle 80s.
Minnesota transplants in Florida are cleaning up Friday, after Hurricane Helene slammed into Florida’s Big Bend Thursday. Some of them have grown accustomed to hurricanes over time and took the storm in stride. For others, Helene was their first hurricane.
Another week of dry, above-average temperatures and cool nights has enabled the fall colors to transform beautifully. Warm temperatures in the 70s and 80s this weekend, combined with plenty of sunshine, make for a perfect road trip.
The death toll from Hurricane Helene has reached at least 30 across four states. According to an Associated Press tally Friday, the deaths occurred in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
The very warm, dry weather continues into the weekend along with sunny skies. There’s little rain in the forecast and only a brief cool spell midweek next week.
The Minnesota DNR’s fall colors map suggests leaves are in the beginning stages of turning colorful across northern Minnesota with the start of notable color in the Iron Range and near North Dakota, as well as a sprinkle along the southern border of Minnesota.
