Temperatures will be cooler by about 10-15 degrees but still above normal Wednesday and Thursday. Summer warmth returns Friday.
Cooler Wednesday, Thursday before heating up Friday
In the wake of Tuesday’s cool front, temperatures will be cooler across the state Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will range from the low 70s south to the 60s north with cooler readings near Lake Superior.
We’ll have more sunshine, though southern Minnesota will see some scattered clouds, especially this morning. Winds will be a bit higher, from the northeast at 10 to 15 mph.

Overnight will be chilly with clear skies and dry air. Low temperatures will dip to frosty readings in northeast Minnesota with 40s south and west.

Thursday will see similar temperatures with more sunshine, although western Minnesota will start to warm.
We’re back in summerlike warmth this weekend with highs returning to the low 80s in central and southern Minnesota Friday.

Another weak cool front moves through late Friday creating just isolated shower chances and dropping temperatures only a few degrees for Saturday.
We could be in for a May heat wave with temperatures of 80 degrees or higher starting Sunday through next week. The persistent upper-level ridge pattern remains largely in place over our region and will keep conditions very warm and dry but might start to breakdown some late in the week.

This means we could be in for five to seven consecutive days of high temperatures in the 80s or warmer with portions of Minnesota reaching 90 degrees.
