While cooler than earlier in the week, temperatures will still be slightly above normal Thursday. Highs in the 80s are back Friday into next week.
Temperatures heat up Friday with only isolated rain chances ahead
We have one more cooler day of temperatures when compared to the start of the week. Highs will be near 70 in the Twin Cities with mid-70s west and 60s northeast. Cooler temperatures will again be hugging the shores of Lake Superior.

Look for one last chilly night in eastern Minnesota with clear skies ahead of the warmer air returning for Friday. Northeastern Minnesota will again dip into the 30s overnight.

It’s back to summerlike temperatures Friday into the weekend and next week. Highs will top out above 80 degrees for southern Minnesota Friday and potentially each day through next Friday.

A weak cool front moves across the state Friday, touching off isolated showers or thunder chances into the evening hours. If you get briefly wet Friday, consider yourself lucky!

Behind the front, it will only be a degree or two cooler Saturday. The pattern remains very dry overall until a potential shift in the upper-level flow late next week.
Highs Sunday could break records in parts of the state. The record Sunday is 88 degrees in the Twin Cities and 90 degrees in St. Cloud.
