One more chilly day before a drastic warmup
Tuesday begins with frigid, below-average temperatures accompanied by wind chills ranging from 20 to 30 degrees below zero. However, a major warmup is on the way for midweek with temperatures climbing into the 20s and 30s along with abundant sunshine.

Bitterly cold Monday and Tuesday with a rapid warmup midweek
Below-normal temperatures are gripping the state Monday and Tuesday before things warm up quickly for Wednesday through Friday. Above-freezing highs are possible for western and southern Minnesota. 
Blast of arctic air with bitterly cold wind chills
Another blast of arctic air will settle into the Upper Midwest, dropping temperatures into the single digits, with wind chills reaching the teens and 20s below zero. Our brief period of colder temperatures will give way to warmer 30s and 40s by the end of the week.
Lingering snow with plummeting temperatures
Snow will persist through Sunday, with temperatures dropping following the passage of our latest weather system. Arctic cold will settle in at the start of the workweek, but temperatures are expected to rise by Wednesday.
Accumulating snow continues into Sunday
A passing clipper system brings accumulating snow this evening into tomorrow. Sunday features falling temperatures and blustery northwest winds and chilly air settles into the region.
