Light snow, flurries possible Wednesday ahead of colder Thanksgiving
Light snow showers and flurries will be possible Wednesday as a quick moving clipper swings through. It will bring even colder air and wind for Thanksgiving and into the weekend.
A colder than normal start to December?
Our weather maps appear to be undergoing the annual seasonal pattern change into winter. The jet stream is accelerating due to the colder air to the north, and it’s diving down across the central and eastern United States.
Snow showers possible with plummeting temperatures
Cold air and light snow showers move in for Sunday night. Our first wave of Arctic air will bring plunging temperatures on Monday, dropping into the 20s, accompanied by breezy winds. Mid-week will be quiet and calm, with a second blast of cold air arriving on Thanksgiving Day.
Continued cloud cover with warmer temperatures
Sunday will see persistent low-lying cloud cover, with temperatures reaching the low 40s. A clipper system will bring snow showers to the Iron Range and North Shore, with lighter snowfall expected as far south as central Minnesota.
