There's a conference on Tuesday in St. Paul called "Building Resilience: Restoring Our Human Capacity to Heal," sponsored by the locally based Catalyst Initiative that will explore ways to address trauma and build resilience in individuals and communities.

After the service, which was held in the Clemens Field House on the campus of the College of St. Benedict, mourners were invited to an ice cream social in Jacob's honor.

Authorities say Dahir Adan, 20, slashed his way through a Saturday night crowd at the Crossroads Center mall last weekend. Since then, investigators, city leaders and Adan's friends are still trying to figure out what led the former college student to such violence.
