What happened to the oil?
As reports came in of another off-shore oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, this week BP began the process of permanently sealing the leak in its undersea well. Even after 206 million gallons of oil flowed into the Gulf from late April to early August, there were claims that the BP oil had "disappeared" into the sea. But scientists question whether it's really gone.
No sign of oil spill after Gulf platform fire
The Coast Guard is saying there are no immediate signs of a spill from an oil platform fire in the Gulf of Mexico off the Louisiana coast. All 13 crew members were rescued from the water in the second such disaster in the Gulf in less than five months.
