Today's Morning Edition music is from the celebrated soprano Renee Fleming singing Handel's "Oh sleep, why dost thou leave me" which should be the official theme song of the Morning Edition production crew. Fleming has performed at a Presidential inauguration, the Olympics, Buckingham Palace and the Super Bowl. Tonight, she will be at Ordway Music Theater in St. Paul where she will be accompanied by pianist Hartmut Holl.

Marriner, who served as musical director for the Minnesota Orchestra from 1979 to 1986, died Sunday at the age of 92. He was booked to conduct the orchestra in January.
