Today's Morning Edition music is from Edward Elgar's "Enigma Variations," performed by the Minnesota Orchestra under the direction Sir Neville Marriner.

Marriner, who served as musical director for the Minnesota Orchestra from 1979 to 1986, died Sunday at the age of 92.

Marriner was one of the most-recorded classical artists of all time, with more than 500 recordings made with his ensembles. He stayed active in music throughout his life and was booked to conduct the Minnesota Orchestra in January.
