His latest album "Fudge Sandwich" -- his fifth release this year -- is a collection of cover songs, from War's classic "Lowrider" to "Class War" by The Dils.
"More Blood, More Tracks" comes out on Friday. It's a six-CD set that includes all the takes first recorded in New York, and shows how the album's songs evolved over time.

For his part, Neil Diamond says the UB40 version is among his favorite covers of one his songs. When he performs "Red Red Wine" now, he uses UB40's reggae arrangement.
