‘Pelican Pete’ takes a trip to make way for dam removal
The iconic concrete and steel statue has stood guard in Pelican Rapids since 1957. It was moved to a temporary perch while the aging dam is replaced with rock rapids, which will allow the Pelican River to flow more naturally.
PUC requires environmental review for first proposed carbon pipeline in Minnesota
The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission unanimously accepted Summit Carbon Solution’s route permit application. It also ordered an environmental review of the project which has drawn opposition from communities along the proposed route in northwestern Minnesota. 
EPA finalizes water rule that repeals Trump-era changes
President Joe Biden's administration has finalized regulations that protect hundreds of thousands of small streams, wetlands and other waterways, repealing a Trump-era rule that federal courts had thrown out and that environmentalists said left waterways vulnerable to pollution.
