Flash flood watch cancelled for metro
Expect showers and T-Storms coverage to increase in southern Minnesota including the Twin Cities metro late afternoon and through Sunday night into Monday morning. Local rainfall totals of 1" to 3" look likely, with some heavier totals possible. The Twin Cities NWS has issued a flash flood watch through Monday morning.
Smokin’ hot again Saturday, storm chances Sunday
The hottest spell of 2015 continues Saturday. Our mini 2-day heat wave produced heat index values of 100 degrees at MSP Airport and several other Minnesota locations Friday afternoon. It was the hottest day of the year so far in the metro and many other Minnesota locations.

Our well advertised blast of late summer heat has finally arrived. The thermometer hit 94 degrees at MSP Airport at 3:09 p.m. today. That's the hottest temperature recorded so far in 2015.
Tropical Minnesota: More sun and steam Friday

Severe T-Storm Watch until midnight includes metro
A cluster of severe storms with a history of large hail up to 3" in diameter and winds estimated at 80 mph is racing southeast through Minnesota tonight. NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch that includes St. Cloud and the Twn Cities metro until midnight.
Dog days: A shot at 90 degrees
Air conditioning units buzz the next few days as temps make a run at 90 in what's likely the hottest stretch of the summer. Relief arrives next week as temperatures appear to head toward the 70s.
Perseid sky show may dazzle, heat builds
Temperatures and humidity are on the rise this week as southwest winds kick in at the surface behind a departing high pressure cell. Scattered thunderstorms reappear by early Thursday morning.
