Severe storms barrel across Minnesota, leaving thousands without power
Crews were making progress on repairing outages left by severe storms across Minnesota — but utilities reported tens of thousands of customers remained without power Sunday afternoon, during a sweltering summer day across the region.
A heat advisory has been issued for Southwest Minnesota this afternoon and evening, and for the Twin Cities Metro area through Sunday evening. Residents are advised to take precautions as temperatures rise.
