Dangerous cold across Minnesota leads to more school delays for Wednesday

Ice-covered rock formations emerge from the frigid waters of Lake Superior at Gooseberry Falls State Park on Monday near Two Harbors, Minn. The subzero temperatures created dramatic frozen landscapes along the shoreline.

Some Minnesota school districts have announced they’ll be starting classes late or moving to online learning on Wednesday, Feb. 19, as a stretch of dangerously cold conditions continues across the region.

That’s after most school districts across the state delayed or canceled classes — or moved to online learning — on Tuesday.

Extreme cold warnings and cold weather advisories are in place again for late Tuesday into early Wednesday. Wind chills overnight are forecast to drop into the 20s, 30s and 40s below zero.
