Spring seems to be moving in slow-motion this year. Many years we can go from snow to 80s in just days. Not this time.
This has actually been a pretty normal spring and April so far across most of Minnesota.
Temperatures this month are running near normal (+0.7 degrees) in the Twin Cities. April is living up to its reputation of the windiest month of the year in Minnesota. We’ve clocked 30 mph wind gusts across much of Minnesota on more than half of the days since March 1.
Saturday brings abundant sunshine and lighter winds our way. Highs will run in the 40s north to 50s south Saturday afternoon.

Sunday brings slightly milder temperatures with 60s creeping back into parts of Minnesota.

Rain chances Sunday night and Monday
A fast-moving weather system will clip eastern Minnesota Sunday night into Monday.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Global Forecast System model is typical of many that bring rain into eastern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, Sunday evening through the overnight hours.
Rain may change to snow in northwestern Wisconsin and parts of northeastern Minnesota Sunday night. The Global Forecast System model run below runs between 7 a.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday.

Next week starts on cooler notes. But high temperatures should climb back into the 60s by the middle and end of next week.

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts model is hinting at 70s again the weekend of April 26-27.
