The Beatles at the Met: 50 years ago today
Fifty years ago, the Beatles performed live at Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington. It was their first and only visit to Minnesota -- and the only stop that didn't sell out on their U.S. tour.
The 7th Street Entry and The Depot Bar and Restaurant reopened over the weekend after part of a ceiling collapsed at the adjoining First Avenue mainroom Wednesday.
It was the band's second chart-topper. But it wasn't originally a pop song: It had originated in British music halls around 1910, the signature song of East London-based Harry Champion, a singer and comedian.
