In an interview with USA Today, she said her ex "made me feel like I wasn't as good or as relevant as these hipster bands he listened to. So I made a song that I knew would absolutely drive him crazy."
Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek told author Marc Myers that the band didn't use a bass player when they recorded the song. He played the bass part on a Fender keyboard with his left hand and the lead part with his right hand on a Vox organ.
Williams, 26 says his father was an '80s hair band fan. It was his grandfather who introduced him to the outlaw country music that became his musical inspiration.
"The group apparently played quite a few songs, but because of the never-ending shriek (from fans), every song sounded about the same," the review said.
