Glen Campbell's "Wichita Lineman" reached number one 50 years ago

Glen Campbell's "Wichita Lineman" reached number one on the Billboard Country chart 50 years ago today. Jimmy Webb, who wrote the song, told Songfacts that the inspiration was an image he witnessed while driving one day.

50 years since Led Zeppelin kicked off their first U.S. tour

The band opened for Vanilla Fudge and Spirit in Denver. Concert promoter Barry Fey wrote in his autobiography that the next morning, a local radio station was flooded with calls from listeners who wanted to hear more of Led Zeppelin's music.
