The Obama administration is taking gray wolves in the western Great Lakes region off the federal endangered species list. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources already is laying plans for a hunting season on wolves.

One bright spot in the U.S. economy is the oil drilling industry that has developed around hydraulic fracture mining, or fracking. Reports suggest the drilling technique is harming the environment.
