Copyright concerns delay Messersmith's album release

The Star Tribune reports that after the album was finished someone noticed that parts of Jeremy Messersmith's song "Purple Hearts" sound enough like "Sweet Caroline" that it could get them sued for copyright infringement.

"Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley was number one on the Billboard pop chart 30 years ago. Over the years, the song has been subjected to a fair amount of ridicule. Nick Lowe made a pointed attack on the song's lyrics in his composition "All Men Are Liars."
