The National Weather Service says a heat dome that has led to nearly 90 consecutive days of triple-digit temperatures in Phoenix has moved into Texas. High temperature records are expected to fall daily across Texas under a major heat alert with an extreme heat alert affecting eastern New Mexico.
Temperatures remain slightly cooler for Thursday, with seasonal temperatures for Friday. We will see our dew points increasing with warm air moving in for the weekend and highs returning to the 90s.
Scattered showers will fall across northern and western Minnesota Thursday. Some activity will drift into the rest of the state Thursday night. The weekend will be hot and humid.
We’ll have partly cloudy skies Wednesday with a possible isolated shower in south-central Minnesota. More spotty thunder develops north and west Thursday.
Temperatures will be slightly cooler but right near normal Tuesday. Southwestern Minnesota will see scattered showers. The next chance of spotty thunder comes Thursday into Thursday night.
The packages, which were discovered along two beaches in Florida, are reported to have weighed over 100 pounds in total with an estimated street value of over $1 million, authorities said.
