After a chilly weekend, temperatures will be warmer for southern Minnesota Monday. We’re also monitoring a midweek storm that will deliver rain and snow.

Warmer for southern Minnesota Monday; midweek snow developing 

Our wild roller coaster of temperatures continues. After a chilly weekend, temperatures will warm up Monday for southern Minnesota. Highs will range from the 60s south to just the 30s in far northern Minnesota. 

While it’s a return to spring in southern Minnesota, northern Minnesota continues to see snow showers through the morning hours and midday Monday. A winter weather advisory continues north through noon Monday.

Up to another inch or two could fall for far northern Minnesota. There’s a winter weather advisory posted for northern Minnesota Monday. 

Cooler air moves in Monday night into Tuesday and Wednesday. Our next storm system will develop rain and snow showers Tuesday across central Minnesota and expand into Wednesday. 

Most forecast models favor southeastern Minnesota with heavier snow. More than 6 inches of snow could fall in south-central and southeastern Minnesota into western Wisconsin.

A winter storm watch is posted for Wednesday for southeastern Minnesota. 

Temperatures will be cooler Wednesday and Thursday, in the 30s and 40s, before warming back above normal Friday and into the weekend.
