"Fierce Delight" by Emily Bright is out now.

Emily Bright is familiar to MPR News listeners as a newscaster and fill-in host. But she’s written poetry for most of her life — and her debut collection is out this week.

The book is called “Fierce Delight: Poems of Early Motherhood.”

Bright will be at Red Balloon Booksellers in St. Paul on Sunday, May 4 for a poetry reading.

She spoke with MPR News host Tom Crann about the new book.
