Minnesota college enrollment recovers after a decade of decline

Colleges and universities across the state and region saw enrollment grow last fall — good news for the institutions after a decade of decline and further dips during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Delays in the FAFSA, or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, last year also created worry about a negative impact on enrollment.

Haley Chinander, an analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, wrote about the trends and shared more with MPR News host Tom Crann.
