Public media organizations like Minnesota Public Radio are under increased scrutiny in this new Trump administration.
Some Republican members of Congress have called for the elimination of federal funding through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The chair of the FCC has called non-commercial underwriting into question, and the heads of NPR and PBS have been called to testify in Congress.
March 6 was “Protect My Public Media Day” at stations across the country — to make listeners and viewers more aware of renewed threats and to call for action on behalf of their stations.
