Four restaurants in a small section of northeast Minneapolis have been subject of local and national acclaim.
The newest one is Diane's Place, just a few blocks off of 13th Avenue. Chef Diane Moua is up for Best Chef of the Midwest in this year’s James Beard awards.
The restaurant is named after Moua — and she views the dining experience as if she is inviting a guest to her home.
“When you invite somebody over to your house, you take good care of them. Especially in a Hmong household,” she told MPR News host Tom Crann. “And so this is something that will has been ingrained to me from when I was young.”
