Minnesota had the coldest temperatures in the nation as the state moved into its second week of meteorological winter.

“We certainly got slapped with some really cold, Arctic-like air,” meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley said. 

On Wednesday, Roseau in northern Minnesota was the coldest place in America, with temperatures bottoming near -17 degrees Fahrenheit. Only a day later and a few miles northeast in Warroad, temperatures dropped to -26 degrees.
