The future of Medicaid

The healthcare debate is heating up again. A new standalone health bill isn't weaving its way through Congress. However, one version of the major tax plan that is currently making the rounds includes a provision that would put an end to the individual insurance mandate. If the bill passes, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that it could mean Medicaid spending would be 35 percent lower in 2036 than under current law.

Andy Slavitt, a former acting administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services joined "MPR News with Kerri Miller" for a conversation about Medicaid's uncertain future.
