Last week's powerful windstorm interrupted a favorable week for finishing up the fall harvest in Minnesota.
In its weekly crop weather report for Minnesota, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Monday that saturated fields have slowed progress for some producers.
But the report also says Minnesota's corn crop advanced to 87 percent harvested by Sunday, up 10 percentage points from a week earlier. That's well ahead of the 11 percent last year at this time and the five-year average of 60 percent.
The sunflower harvest advanced 3 percentage points from the previous week to 94 percent, compared with 23 percent last year and a 60-percent average.
