President Barack Obama is planning to sign an executive order today that will end former President Bush's limits on using federal dollars for embryonic stem cell research.

One of the institutions that will be directly affected by the change is the Stem Cell Institute at the University of Minnesota.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Dr. Jonathan Slack, the Director of that Institute. He says lifting the ban will improve the quality of stem cell research.
