The holiday week in Minnesota is starting with a shiver.
Monday commuters around the state are being greeted with subzero air temperatures and wind chills dozens of degrees below zero. The roads are icy and officials encourage commuters to drive carefully.
Black ice is being reported on freeways across the Twin Cities area, causing a rash of spinouts and crashes.
A rollover on southbound Interstate 35E has traffic backed up to Larpenteur already this morning. Another crash is slowing traffic at Interstate 494 and Hardman Avenue.

Another crash was reported on westbound Interstate 694 at East River Road, causing more backups.
In Minneapolis, it's 10 degrees below zero, with a windchill of minus 26, and the National Weather Service says it's not going to change much until Tuesday. Then it will start to snow.
In Duluth, it's 15 degrees below with a windchill of minus 35. It's 20 below in International Falls, 19 below in Bemidji and 11 below in Rochester.
