Pawlenty's talks on Twins stadium yield no action

Gov. Tim Pawlenty tried to jump-start talks for a Twins ballpark Wednesday, meeting over lunch with Twins president Jerry Bell and Hennepin County Commissioners Mike Opat and Randy Johnson. It didn't work.

Vikings expected to hire Childress as coach

The Minnesota Vikings scheduled a news conference Friday amid reports the team was set to hire Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brad Childress as its new head coach. 49-year-old Childress would replace Mike Tice, who was fired Sunday after Minnesota finished the season 9-7 and missed the playoffs.
