Good afternoon! It's been a long week. Take a moment - or even a minute! - to watch something beautiful. Once a year around this time, when conditions are just right, Horsetail Fall in Yosemite National Park lights up at sunset with a majestic spectacle of orange and yellow. | Forecast
Good morning! Sunny and really warm today. At least for winter. Highs in the 40s north and 60s (!) south. Speaking of winter, can we even call it that? Minnesota got off pretty easy this year. We've racked up just 48 points on the Winter Misery Index so far. | Forecast | Updraft weather blog
Good afternoon! The rusty patched bumblebee is in trouble. The bee was set to be given endangered-species designation on Feb. 10, but one day before that the U.S. Department of Interior put off the effective date until March 21 because of the administration's temporary freeze on new regulations. Now the Natural Resources Defense Counsil is suing the Trump administration, saying the department broke the law by postponing the listing without public notice and comment. | Tips for a pollinator friendly garden | Forecast
Good morning! Partly sunny with highs in the 30s north, lower 40s south. There's a new top dog in America. A German shepherd named Rumor (after the Adele song) was named best in show at the Westminster Kennel Club last night. In a year that's seen lots of late, startling twists in sports -- think Patriots, Cubs and Cavaliers -- Rumor pulled something of a shocker. Good afternoon! NASA was looking for help from the public in solving a very specific challenge: How to deal with poop in a spacesuit. The winners of the "Space Poop Challenge" included doctors, a dentist, a product designer and an engineer. | Forecast

Good afternoon! Some plant breeders vie to grow ever more mouth-burning peppers. The guy behind the Habanada had a different goal: a habanero with no heat all. The aromatic, melon-like result is winning over top chefs. | Forecast
Good morning! Sunny with highs ranging from the upper 30s north to the upper 40s south. Happy Monday. There's extra reason to celebrate today -- it's Galentine's Day, the best unofficial holiday made just for women. | Forecast | Updraft weather blog
Good afternoon! Here's an update now on James Wiitamak, the man with cancer who took out an ad in a local newspaper asking for cards and letters at the VA hospital in St. Cloud, Minn. It's working. | NewsCut | Forecast
Good afternoon! Don't you just hate it when you're driving at night and a barred owl lands on your windshield wipers? A Duluth police officer was responding to a report of an injured owl by the side of the road when the bird in question landed on his squad car. It wasn't injured; it was curious. You know how owls are. | Forecast
