Dion DiMucci is now 80 years old. Known throughout his career by only his first name name, Dion was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. Bruce Springsteen has called him the link between Frank Sinatra and rock & roll.
According to their label’s website, the band got their start when Grammy-winning guitarist and producer Adrian Quesada went looking for a singer to team up with. A friend introduced him to Eric Burton, who was busking on the streets of Austin, Texas.
According to Vanity Fair, the astronauts were each given a compact cassette player for recording mission notes, and a friend of theirs loaded the tapes with their favorite songs.
