More than $4 million will pay for ring dikes around farmsteads in the Red River Valley, but flood protection is only a secondary goal for the federal program.
A national chain of arts and crafts stores has agreed to pay $35,000 to a former employee of its store in Rochester, Minn., in response to allegations that the woman was discriminated against because she used a wheelchair.
Meetings are scheduled this week in the Minnesota communities of
Roseau and Oslo. Others are scheduled next month in Lakota, Devils
Lake, Langdon, Pembina and in Morris, Manitoba.
