What does it mean to forgive the unforgivable? How do we find a spark of hope when the darkness overwhelms?
These are the questions Anne Lamott explores in her new book, “Dusk, Night, Dawn.” With her trademark mix of honesty and humor, Lamott is the first to say these questions are impossible. But she also leads the reader to gentle moments of renewal and tells stories from her own life about how dawn often comes right when the darkness feels interminable.
On Tuesday, MPR News host Kerri Miller talked with Lamott about forgiveness, restoration and how to find a second or third wind, even in a year as overwhelming as this one.

Anne Lamott is the author of several books. Her latest is “Dust, Night, Dawn: On Revival and Courage.”
