When historian Jon Meacham spoke with MPR News host Kerri Miller just a few months into the Trump presidency, people were already talking about the fight over America’s soul. His book, “The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels,” and his conversation with Miller seems even more pertinent today, after a year that has brought impeachment hearings, a worldwide pandemic still spreading in the U.S. and racial tensions that have boiled over.
