During a news conference to share updates and issue a stay-at-home order, Gov. Tim Walz said that Minnesota has gone beyond the point of flattening the curve and that it’s no longer possible to reduce the number of residents who will be infected. His order is intended to hit the brakes on the peak number of infections so the state’s health care systems can increase their intensive care unit capacity.

Kerri Miller talked with an infectious disease doctor about how data modeling helps predict the reach of the virus and how Minnesotans can continue to protect themselves and others.
