NASA: West Antarctic Ice Sheet ‘unstoppable’

Two new studies suggest the Antarctic ice melt is moving more quickly than previously thought, that the advance of the glaciers is accelerating and has become “unstoppable.

Severe weather gone; cool, unsettled weekend coming

Saturday, the fishing opener will start out cool and dry, but some scattered showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms will pop up later in the day. Mother’s Day should bring highs in the 60s to around 70.

Severe thunderstorm watch until 1 a.m., tornado potential into Thursday

We are basically on alert now for strong to severe storms through Thursday. The primary threats are large hail and damaging winds, but there is the potential for tornadoes.
