A low pressure center continues to move very slowly across northern Minnesota. Ongoing scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder are possible for Thursday night. Temperatures remain slightly below our average to end the work week.

This summer, volunteers collected detailed temperature and humidity data across Hennepin and Ramsey counties. It’s part of an effort to map the urban heat island in the Twin Cities to help plan for climate change-fueled extreme heat.

Enjoy a sun-filled Tuesday. We’ll see highs back in the low 80s for many. Muggier air returns Wednesday and that combined with a disturbance will touch off the next chance of thunder.

Our streak of 70 degrees days has ended with 80s returning to the forecast. Our next system moves in Wednesday into Thursday, increasing our shower and thunderstorm chances. A brief cooldown to end the week.
