A candlelight vigil is planned Wednesday night in honor of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, who were gunned down in their home over the weekend. 

Therapists call what that family and many others are experiencing “traumatic grief,” the deep emotional reactions to a sudden, unexpected loss.

The family of the late DFL House Leader Melissa Hortman are planning a funeral for her and her slain husband. In their first comments, Speaker Hortman's parents told CBS News that the horror of this past weekend was beyond reality, as they heard the couple had been shot, but when they couldn't find them in area hospitals, they realized the reason they couldn't was because the Hortmans were dead. They then received a call from authorities confirming that horrible news. Therapists call what that family and many others are experiencing "traumatic grief," the deep emotional reactions to a sudden, unexpected loss. We have more from Stacy Remke.
