The state supervised release board denied parole for a man convicted of killing two classmates during a school shooting at Rocori High School in Cold Spring, Minn., in 2003.

Jason McLaughlin, who was 15 at the time, became eligible for the hearing after life sentences without parole for juveniles was repealed.
The board asked McLaughlin at the hearing on Friday how he though his actions affected his victims’ families.
”I just remember the stories that they told in court and it, it kind of haunts me to this day, like I have a hard time sleeping, thinking about what they went through,” McLaughlin said.
McLaughlin will be eligible for parole again in five years.
