The trailer for the upcoming Minneapolis-based season of Netflix’s “Love is Blind” is out and things are looking … medical? A fourth of the 32 cast members introduced work in the medical field. From a health care recruiter to a colonoscopy nurse, Minnesota is showing off as a medical destination to the rest of the country.
Season eight premieres on none other than Friday, Feb. 14 — Valentine’s Day.
Netflix advertises Love is Blind as a “social experiment where single men and women look for love and get engaged, all before meeting in person.” It offers a perspective on whether love can be blind, or if a sight-unseen love is even a worthwhile pursuit.
The Minneapolis season includes 32 singles — the largest group to date — and their ages range from 26 to 43. Netflix reports that Sagittarius women and Taurus men are the most common this season.

On Oct. 30 during a reunion episode for the Washington D.C. cast, three Minneapolis cast members were introduced: Brittany, Alex and Joey. After the trailer that dropped Monday, we now know Brittany is a sports-loving 35-year-old partnership executive, Alex is a 29-year-old commercial real estate broker who snores and Joey is a 33-year-old physician associate who gets “the ick” from wet willies.
The rest of the cast members have biographies on the Netflix website Tudum including their star signs if anyone wants to start charting the compatibility of their favorite pairs. The most interesting finds: there are several former cheerleaders and a current Minnesota Timberwolves dancer, as well as a former Gerber baby model and the owner of Troubadour Wine Bar.
In MPR News’ previous reporting, sources shared they saw film crews or legal notices about filming at Pryes Brewing, Bryant Lake Bowl & Theater, Luna and The Bear and O'Shaughnessy Distilling Company.
Minneapolis resident Adriana Holley said she began noticing a film crew outside her apartment building, 365 Nicollet, in February 2024. It’s safe to say the season has been over a year in the making.
And of course, Minnesotans are ready to support any chance our state gets the limelight: There are plans for a “Love is Blind” watch party hosted by Umbra. While it is the first listed public event we have seen advertised, we are sure it won’t be the last.
Umbra says fans can join for a watch party of episodes one and two on Saturday, Feb. 15. There will be themed brunch bites, mimosas in the iconic gold cups and photo opportunities.
