After nearly a decade in business, Twin Cities restaurant Revival announced an abrupt closure Monday. 

The fried chicken and barbecue restaurant shuttered its locations in Minneapolis, St. Paul and St. Louis Park. It also closed its location in the Market at Malcolm Yards food hall in Minneapolis.

Revival’s owners posted an announcement on the restaurants’ website and on social media on Monday.

“It’s no secret owning a restaurant is one of the toughest journeys, and it truly breaks our hearts to take this step,” co-owners Thomas Boemer and Nick Rancone wrote in the social media post.

The restaurant served mainly fried chicken and Southern cooking, and had recently expanded the St. Paul location’s menu to include pizzas and Chicago-style sandwiches. 

Revival grew out of the farm-to-table restaurant Corner Table, which Boemer and Rancome co-owned for several years. Corner Table closed in 2019. Boemer, Revival’s chef, has been nominated for several James Beard awards.
