The Minnesota Vikings will face the Detroit Lions Sunday in a big showdown that will determine not only which team wins the NFC North Division Championship, but which team will get the No. 1 playoff seeding in the NFC.

“I was in the vast majority of people who thought this was going to be kind of a rebuilding year,” said Kevin Seifert, a reporter for NFL Nation who covers the Vikings. “I really think the Vikings are gonna have to play probably their best game of the season to win this one.”

Whoever wins Sunday’s game gets to take the NFC North title, a week off to recover, homefield advantage until the Super Bowl and the number one seed in the NFC.

“It’s the first time since 1993 in the NFL where a regular season game had this much riding on it,” Seifert said.
