Today in Fargo-Moorhead: Carbon capture project and new high school requirements

We could see rain Wednesday afternoon. Thursday should be partly sunny with a high of 48 degrees. Friday we’ll see a high of 53 with some breeze.

A woman was found dead when first responders were dispatched to a Moorhead crash scene Tuesday morning, according to a press release from the city. Near Main Avenue SE and 20th Street S., a vehicle struck a railroad support pillar. The crash is under investigation.

An electric cooperative that serves customers in Minnesota and North Dakota wants to build one of the worlds largest carbon capture facilities. Skeptics doubt Project Tundra will work, but the Biden administration has thrown its support behind the nearly $2 billion project.

Since it was first discovered in a St. Paul neighborhood in 2009, the invasive emerald ash borer has slowly munched its way northwestward across the state, and has now reached the doorstep of the largest stretch of ash forest in North America.

From the Fargo Forum: High school students in Fargo will be required to take fewer physical education and elective course credits starting this fall, a move that has those teachers concerned.

The Celtic Festival is soon approaching. Free LinkFM buses operate Saturday to shuttle folks. The festival runs most of the day at the Hjemkomst Center and involves Celtic food, performances and workshops.
