2 hunters accidentally shot in separate incidents during youth deer hunts

Two people were accidentally shot over the weekend during the Minnesota youth deer hunting season.
On Sunday morning, the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a man shot with a deer rifle south of Bemidji.
Deputies found 50-year-old Gary Peters bleeding from gunshot wounds.
Investigators determined Peters was hunting with a 10-year-old during the youth deer season. The child accidentally pulled the trigger while attempting to unload a rifle. Peters was airlifted to a Fargo hospital with serious injuries.
Also on Sunday, a 45-year-old man hunting with his 12-year-old daughter was shot in the leg.
The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office says the girl shot a deer. She then accidentally fired the rifle again, striking her father in the leg.
The man, who was not identified, was taken to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
