It’s been a wet start to October with significant rainfall in the southern half of Minnesota, putting a dent in lingering drought.

Thursday’s drought monitor shows great improvement in conditions across the state and the rest of October should have above-normal rainfall, according to retired meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley.

He spoke with Cathy Wurzer on Morning Edition about the wet weather and cooler temperatures on the way in their weekly weather chat.
