Cleaning out your desk this fall? Don’t throw away that e-waste

For many of us, fall is a good time to do a thorough housecleaning before we close everything up for the winter. Perhaps you have a pile of old tech: tablets, phones, a tangle of cords. Don’t toss that tech in the trash.

In Ramsey County, there’s a new recycling program for TVs, computers, game consoles and other electronics. It’s a partnership between Ramsey County and Repowered, an organization which offers job training while keeping tech trash out of landfills.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with Repowered CEO Amanda LaGrange on Tuesday to learn more about the program.
