In recent weeks, the heat has pushed many Minnesotans into the water, seeking relief. But at some beaches, the lifeguard chairs are empty — and that’s a trend with potentially dangerous consequences.
MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with Sarah Chillo for more on how a lifeguard shortage is playing out in Minneapolis. Chillo is the aquatics manager for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.
